PTA SERVICE

Over the past 12 years, I have dedicated myself to serving the PTA with passion and purpose, bringing over 22 years of combined leadership experience across multiple campuses. I proudly served two 2-year terms as PTA President, where I led a committed team focused on family engagement, equity, and student success. During my tenure as president and volunteer, I have successfully planned, organized, and executed a variety of impactful events and fundraisers, directly enhancing school programs and enriching the student experience.

One of my proudest achievements was leading efforts that resulted in Ramirez Elementary being recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence for 2023–25—an honor awarded to only 83 schools across Texas and the only one in Lubbock. As Ramirez PTA President, I was honored with the Elsie Smith Presidential Award from Council PTA, and our PTA received the Outstanding PTA Award. In addition to event coordination, I actively recruited, trained, and supervised volunteer teams, fostering a culture of involvement and collaboration. I worked closely with committees to set goals, manage budgets, and deliver on strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with PTA bylaws and governance standards.

Throughout my PTA service, I have held numerous leadership roles at both the campus and council levels. I have chaired various committees including Communications, Arts in Education, and Teacher Appreciation. My work has been recognized with multiple Outstanding Newsletter Awards from Council PTA and the Gold Star Award for Website Design from Texas PTA. As part of the Ramirez Elementary PTA board, I was most recently named Volunteer of the Year. At Hutchinson Middle School, I served as Reflections Coordinator for PTA’s national arts contest, designed and marketed school t-shirts, and organized the 8th Grade Formal. At Lubbock High School, I’ve served as Reflections Coordinator and currently serve as Awards Chairperson. At the Lubbock ISD Council of PTAs, I have taken on key leadership roles as Communications Chair—overseeing newsletters and social media—Arts in Education Chair—coordinating the district-wide Reflections contest—and most recently as Holiday and Awards Luncheon Chair, successfully organizing council-wide fundraisers that hosted over 200 guests. My dedication to strengthening school communities has been consistently recognized through local and state awards for leadership, innovation, and service.
